Bram van Klink is a Music and Technology graduate from the University of the Arts Utrecht, where he focused primarily on composition, sound art, and sound synthesis. Believing that every project should have a core concept, he works towards a clear narrative or vision, often combining artistic experimentation with technical precision. He frequently employs creative programming in Max/MSP to develop algorithmic compositions, interactive systems, and audiovisual material. Much of his work draws on the principles of musique concrète, using found sound and field recordings to shape performances, compositions, and installations.
For his own projects, Bram often creates his instruments and systems from scratch, designing PCBs, 3D-printing components, and building custom electronics. He explores noise music and experimental textures, always pushing the boundaries of sound. In approaching installations, Bram emphasizes learning from the space and the materials themselves, letting the work guide the compositional process. He experiments with live setups, technological compositional interactions with human behaviour, and developing connections with objects and media, such as cassette tapes, to allow the work to “speak” on its own terms. Field recording and careful listening play a key role in his practice, capturing environmental and found sounds.
His practice encompasses audiovisual projects, electroacoustic performance, and spatial audio composition, both collaboratively and as an autonomous artist. Bram’s work is motivated by exploring the interplay between sound, space, and technology, seeking to create immersive, conceptually strong, and spatially aware experiences.
